High-Intensity Ceramic Discharge Lamps -- New to the photographic industry,
provide more light intensity (lumens per watt) without significant heat (infrared) at low wattage. |

For years lighting works of art with continuous light has presented problems in light levels, even illumination, heat from tungsten and HMI lamps, excess UV and IR levels, and power consumption. North Light Products, Inc., a manufacturer of specialized photographic lighting, has worked closely with Better Light to produce a series of continuous light sources to solve most of the issues of art reproduction. The lights provide a very even light distribution without high infrared heat emission and minimal ultraviolet levels to satisfy museum standards. The HID (or CDM) style lamps produce a very high level of useable light for the wattage -- nearly 4 times more than tungsten lamps. The color rendering index (CRI) is excellent with a 92-96 rating for the 4200K lamp. Three models are available for use with varied sizes of art and horizontal or vertical copy setups. Each light unit is double fan-cooled (lamp side and electronics side of housing) and requires only a standard 15 amp, 120 volt outlet. If you have had trouble with light intensity or even illumination, especially when using polarizing filters...you need to consider these HID Copy Lights.
NEW CUSTOM MONOSTAND is now available for the HID Copy Lights. (see below) |
